As with any TI, twitch.tv will be your main go to for live coverage and match-by-match weather-meta-Purge pointing at things report.

 Newbee Betting Preview and Analysis

Check out our Newbee assessment from one of their matches:

Their team play is unarguably unparalleled when analyzing and comparing to other teams. With players such as Damien “kpii” Chok playing aggressively and selflessly sacrificing his life to take the heat off his teammates, Newbee’s strategic teamwork to crumbling the enemy team is swift and refined to perfection. By playing an aggressive style early game, this gives supports Zeng “Faith” Hongda and Hu “Kaka” Liangzhi and ability to duo with their respective lane partners (this being Song “Sccc” Chun and Xu “Moogy” Han) an ability to play without the feeling of being pressured/threatened by the opposing team.

When it comes to team fights, Sccc and Moogy become a deadly duo. Backed up by the supports of Newbee, their ability to stay alive and output massive amounts of damage and eventually take territory for the Newbee side. But, what enemies are more worried is the flexibility of Newbee. Being able to transition and switch roles early on, mid-game, late-game, and during team fights creates a sense of confusion and unpredictability when facing Newbee.

Much of this can be attributed to the caller, Faith. A rich-storied player in the Chinese scene, his play as a support is unparalleled. Being able to create fluidity between his players, Newbee have become one of the scariest teams to play against. When you play against Newbee, there’s no telling as to what they’ll do mid game. Maybe Kaka will suddenly switch to a heavier focus on jungling, or a roaming kpii will aggressively keep you from making progress towards Newbee’s towers (and maybe even the Roshan!).

Unluckily, the traits he brings to the Newbee team seem to be one trick wonders during their tournament runs. Even after running into the grand finals by beating Evil Geniuses, they fail in their follow up rematches against the American side. Perhaps it comes as a problem of switching things up unnecessarily, or the adaptability of EG.

LGD.FY Betting Preview and Analysis

LGD.FY’s game versus Virtus.Pro was an unfathomable display on all parts of the game from LGD. The aggressive play from Virtus.Pro’s were delusioned into thinking it was working, and LGD.FY kept forcing errors from Virtus.Pro to gain advantages. While the first map was very dominant from LGD, Virtus.Pro somehow snuck around and found an advantage to make it close on the second map.

Map 2 was an entirely different play. The MVP play came from ahfu, who went on a solo mission to steal the Aegis during the late game Roshan battle, nabbing Virtus.Pro of their only way back in to the game. Then, it just went on an all out rampage. LGD.FY took their time dismantling Virtus.Pro, who were in detrimental times after losing the Aegis. It finally ended as LGD.FY wreaked havoc on Virtus.Pro, taking the game on a high note.

LGD has only dropped 2 maps in this tournament, and those were in two separate bo1s in the group stage. Right now, you’d assume that out of the remaining teams, they are the ones to take the championship. They’ve even defeated Newbee 2-0 in the group stage, who are their domestic rivals and their potential match up for this match. Although, I still think domestic competition have a better chance of upsetting LGD.FY, so I’m not counting Newbee out of this match.
