The Dreamhack Mumbai 2018 is Dreamhack’s first venture into esports in Asia. It is a momentous occasion since the event organiser is responsible for some of the biggest esports events across the world. Dreamhack Mumbai comes at a crucial juncture for the Indian esports community. They recently received a huge setback with Nikhil ‘Forsaken’ Khumawat caught cheating live on LAN. The incident has scarred the Indian industry. It also led to Optic’s departure from the Indian CS: GO scene.

Dreamhack Mumbai 2018 will take place at the Bombay Exhibition Center in Goregaon, Mumbai. The venue is well-known for hosting huge events. However, it will also be the first time that we will see an esports event on such scale in Mumbai, India. The tournament features cosplay competitions as well as BYOC events. In fact, the two Indian teams will have to compete via the BYOC qualifiers in order to earn their spot at the event. The BYOC events take place starting from 21st December 2018.

The CS: GO Invitational will feature a total of four teams. There will be two International teams, Bravado and eNergy Gaming. They will join the two Indian teams [ through the qualifiers] to compete at the event. The total prize pool for the event is ₹2,500,000 INR
(≃ $34,911.21 USD). The tournament will see a few familiar faces in the Broadcast talent. We have Stunna as the Desk host and Bleh will also be joining as a caster for the event. In addition, there are several local players and talent who will participate in Dreamhack Mumbai 2018.

eNergy

NRG Roster :

  • MisteM
  • Flexeee
  • Domsterr
  • kaNibalistic
  • bLackpoiSon

The eNergy organisation has been one of the best teams in South Africa for some time. They have several well-known players such as bLackpoison on their roster. At one point in time, he was widely regarded as the best player in the South African scene. Robby “bLacKpoisoN” da Loca has a high skill ceiling and can undertake aggressive moves to make plays for the team. He is one of the key elements of the Bravado roster. Like most of top South African players, Robby has also moved between eNergy and Bravado. His skill-set means that he is always a top team in the scene. However, he needs to find the right mixture of players in order to help him succeed. For now, Blackpoison is playing on team eNergy along with members such as kaNibalistic and Domsterr.

The core of this squad has been together since 2017. MisteM joined the team in April this year and they have been playing together since then. The squad has developed great chemistry and is definitely punching above their waist. The team has helped scout many well-known players from the region. We all remember the highlight clips we would see of Sonic in previous years. eNergy Gaming might not have as deep pockets as Bravado, but they definitely have a knack for finding and nurturing talent in the right way.

Bravado

Bravado Roster:

  • Sonic
  • Fadey
  • DetronY
  • JT
  • Elusive

The Bravado team is the cream of the South African Counter-Strike scene. Comprising of multiple well-known players, this team has already proved itself on the world stage. The team has players like Elusive, DetronY and Sonic. They are some of the best players in the scene and we think they have a legitimate chance at making inroads into the International scene very soon.

Sonic is a revelation in the South African scene. Formerly of eNergy esports, he has slowly carved a huge fan following in the region. His extremely high aim often is unreal. He makes very aggressive plays and yet comes out on top in a disadvantageous situation. His quick reactions and ability to convert difficult situations into wins is what makes him the MVP on this roster.

In addition to this, they also have Detrony on the team. THe is a veteran in the South African Counter strike scene and has helped the development of young players from the region. South African has a bustling CS: GO scene, but they need to start producing talent and opportunities rivalling that of Europe. In recent years, we are definitely seeing teams rise up to the occasion.

Bravado recently played in the Dreamhack Open Winter where they lost to ENCE in the Grand Finals. Despite losing meekly to ENCE, Bravado gained a lot of experience. They were definitely noticed by the rest of the world for their ability to stand their ground against some of the better teams from the regions. Bravado Gaming has also won most of their head to head matches against eNergy in their recent outings.

Prediction:

The two teams have a lot of history dating back to several years. Even when the players and the rosters were not the same, there was clearly a rivalry between the two organizations. As we look back at their most recent outings, we can definitely see how Bravado features as the better team. They are extremely comfortable playing against BlackPoison and co. The high skill ceiling on the Bravado roster coupled with their current confidence level ensures that they always put up a win against eNergy.

We recommend a bet on eNergy for this match.
