Cloud9

Cloud9 Roster:

  • Timothy “autimatic” Ta
  • Will “RUSH” Wierzba
  • Robin “flusha” Rönnquist
  • Fabien “kioShiMa” Fiey
  • Jordan “Zellsis” Montemurro

Cloud9 had a very close set of matches against Faze Clan in their opening match. They won both the games in Overtime with 19 rounds in their name. The North American team is definitely looking very strong and they might be a top contender at the Eleague CS: GO Invitational tournament.

The North American team has Flusha on the team as their In-Game Leader. With Flusha taking reigns of the team, we see very slow and methodical gameplay from the roster. Flusha uses his experience of playing the game for multiple years as he looks to enable his team to become a stronger roster in the North American scene. However, this is also something that might backfire on the team. Cloud9 is a team that has spent quite some time under the leadership and in-game shot-calling of Golden. But with medical problems for the player, he is no longer a part of the active roster on Cloud9. Flusha’s calling is different and it is bound to create its own set of instances for the team.

Kioshima was the top fragger during Cloud9’s match against Faze Clan.

Yes, we did not really have much practice time, but we did get just two or three days in between. We figured some stuff out on Mirage after losing to Fnatic on that map at iBUYPOWER. We played with Zellsis some more and added one more map to our map pool. We got some things done but far from good enough.

Flusha

The bigger problem for the team remains that their coach Valens is not present at this tournament. Instead, they have Rambo standing behind the team and helping the team achieve better results. He will have an impact in this match as Cloud9 seems to be playing a very mental game against their opponents. They tend to ensure that they can put forth strong results on a regular basis due to their strategies and tactics. Finding a case for themselves in the playstyle also ensures that the team is very comfortable around their playstyle. Understanding the team’s synergy and coordination is often the most important part of playing in a CS:GO team.

Rush and Autimatic’s performance is crucial to the team’s results. They are two of the better players in North America and their presence on the Cloud9 roster raises hopes for the team’s results. Rush might not always be at the top of the scoreboard, but his cerebral playstyle means that he has excellent positioning as a player. He is able to constantly put up strong results and is aware of his position on the map. If he is the sole defender on a particular site, he ensures that does not take unnecessary risks. However, with adequate backup; Rush is an extremely aggressive player surprising his opponents.

The stable force on the Cloud9 roster Timothy “autimatic” Ta

Cloud9 had a very lucky break against Faze Clan, but it was also due to their individual skill. Kioshima and Autimatic were the most impactful players on the Cloud9 team. They were able to win their individual aim duels consistently against Faze Clan. They look very strong and if Kioshima can keep up his performance; we think they have a very good chance of making it past into the finals.

BIG Gaming

BIG Gaming Roster:

  • Fatih “gob b” Dayik
  • Johannes “tabseN” Wodarz
  • Tizian “tiziaN” Feldbusch
  • Owen “smooya” Butterfield
  • İsmailcan “XANTARES” Dörtkardeş

The BIG Gaming roster is made up of many German players as well as Smooya who hails from Britain. The team has made a name for itself thanks to their strategic approach to the game. They are not seen in many LAN events and their decision to choose only certain tournaments to attend speaks volumes for their ability to play big tournaments. However, they always have a huge impact in whichever tournament they play in. their performance throughout the year has been really good, but we see this team rely a bit too much on their primary AWPer to make plays for them.

Smooya is the AWP player for BIG Gaming and has a signficant impact on the final result.

Speaking of their primary AWPer; Smooya had a fabulous performance in their match against Complexity. The player was moving everywhere on the map. He was takin the aggressive peeks that comes with the amount of confidence that he has in his own gameplay. Smooya is crucial to the team’s gameplay and it is necessary that BIG feed him the confidence required to make such skilled plays.

That being said, we have all seen the level of talent on other players too such as Tizian and Tabsen. They have excellent muscle memory, which ensures that they get frags when they are even in a disadvantageous situation. We have seen how Tizian was able to get multiple frags on Overpass B site despite being overpowered by his opponents.

Xantares is the newest player on BIG Gaming.

The recent addition to BIG Gaming is the best Turkish CS: GO player. Xantares has been surprising many of the CS: GO community repeatedly for many years. His insane skill level is almost at the same level as some of the best teams in the world. Xantares is primarily a rifle player and he has very high firepower. As such, it is necessary for Gob B to understand his individual gameplay. He can make plays all over the map and even turn around games on an individual level. But coming into BIG Gaming; he is out of his comfort zone. Being in Space Soldiers, Xantares always received the adequate support and help from the rest of the teammates. Will he receive the same on BIG Gaming? This is a question that can only be answered by the German team as we see them in action.

Prediction:

Cloud9 looked very strong in their match against Faze Clan. The International team of Faze Clan might not be as strong as a few months ago; however, Cloud9 was still one of the better team in this match. They had an excellent read of the Faze Clan team and to defeat them in just two maps is a tremendous achievement for Cloud9.

Zellsis is a stand-in for Cloud9 at the Eleague CSGO Invitational.

The fact that Cloud9 has managed to put up such a performance against Faze Clans speaks volumes of their potential. With experienced European players such as Flusha and Kioshima leading the way for the team, Cloud9 has a bright future. They have already proven their worth to the organisation both as a player and as the In-Game Leader in case of Flusha. He has been able to lead the way for Cloud9 and enabling the youngsters on this roster to success. They recently brought in Zellsis as a stand-in and need to ensure a comfortable playing environment for the youngster.

However, they are up against BIG Gaming; a team that is known for its tactical approach to the game. With Gob B firmly controlling the tactical approach of the team, BIG has excellent grenade usage. This game will see Flusha and Gob B firmly going at each other via their tactics and strategy. The teams’ movement around the map and their positioning are of critical importance. The In-Game leaders will have their work cut out for them as they go into this critical match.

BIG Gaming has the potential to make it big in this match; however, their fortunes depend a bit too much on Smooya and his individual performance. If Smooya has a great game, as he did against Complexity; BIG are the hot favourites to win this match. Smooya looks excessively good so far in the tournament and therefore, we recommend a bet on BIG Gaming to win this match.

The Eleague CS: GO Invitational is the last Premier LAN event before the commencement of the CS: GO Major. However, it is not as stacked as some of the other Eleague tournaments. In fact, it has only four teams in attendance, and not all of them are Tier one teams.

The tournament features four teams namely BIG Gaming, Cloud9, Complexity Gaming and Faze Clan. These four teams are not representative of the best teams in the world. However, there is a sort of delicacy in the balance of the teams’ rankings. Faze Clan has recently introduced a new player and coach. This definitely makes them one of the unknown performers at this event. On the other hand, BIG Gaming is a team that is rarely seen at multiple LAN events. However, they always have a great grenade usage in the games that they are involved in. The team always receives praise from the casters and analysts for their strategies and their playstyle.

Complexity might not be one of the strongest teams, but it has a loyal fanbase. They have Jordan “n0thing” Gilbert as a stand-in for this event. It is a four-team event and there is technically a 25% chance for this team. The last and final team in this event is Cloud9. Cloud9 is a team that has made changes to its team recently and they are an unknown force in the tournament. Judging from their roster; they have the potential to defeat Faze Clan and take home the trophy.

The Eleague CS: GO Invitational will take place from the 25th to 27th of January, 2019. It takes place at the Eleague Arena in Atlanta. All the matches will be streamed live on Twitch.

BIG Gaming

BIG Gaming Roster

  • Fatih “gob b” Dayik
  • Johannes “tabseN” Wodarz
  • Tizian “tiziaN” Feldbusch
  • Owen “smooya” Butterfield
  • İsmailcan “XANTARES” Dörtkardeş

BIG Gaming is the German organisation which has ensured some really high quality and strategic gameplay in the past. BIG Gaming does not play in all the LAN tournaments; however, when they do, the team has provided us with some really complex yet perfectly executed performances.

The team comprises players from Germany as well as Smooya, from the UK. Together the team has a unique combination of firepower as well as a greater focus on strategy. The BIG Gaming roster is has provided us and casters with a lot of excitement in the past. Their grenade usage has been one of the best and they can deal a lot of damage to the opponents much before the actual contact play begins.

Gob B is the inspiration on this roster and is solely responsible for ensuring the success of the BIG Gaming team. He does not always have an impact with the firepower, but he is seen to be extremely aggressive on eco rounds. Most of his frags are usually eco frags with the SMG weapons. His positioning in key rounds is such that he can have knowledge of the opponents’ whereabouts and take mid-round calls accordingly. The player has shown himself to be capable of ensuring strong success on multiple fronts. He commands the respect of the players and it is instilled out of admiration for his performance and his attitude with the rest of the team.

There are many veterans on the BIG Gaming roster such as Tizian and Tabsen. The skill ceiling of these players is exceptionally high and we have seen them practice certain positions and shots to suit their muscle memory. They can ensure decent positions and multiple frags in a round depending on their movement across and around smoke grenades. Playing intelligently; they often ensure better performance and results than the other teams in a similar situation.

However, one of the most impactful players on the team remains their primary AWP player Smooya. The player has shown himself capable of handling himself in high-pressure situations. He can ensure very strong performances on multiple occasions. The team’s results are often in sync with Smooya’s overall performance in the match. Gob B allows him the freedom to make plays on his own. If he is successful, Smooya goes for more aggressive plays. He can often turn the outcome of the round on his own by racking up several important kills for the team.

Complexity

Complexity Roster:

  • Rory “dephh” Jackson
  • Peter “stanislaw” Jarguz
  • Shahzeeb “ShahZaM” Khan
  • Ricky “Rickeh” Mulholland
  • Jordan “n0thing” Gilbert ( stand-in)

The Complexity Roster looks like a Tier two team on paper. They do have n0thing on their team and that is a significant addition to the roster [ he is still a stand-in ]. However, the rest of the team, despite their skill is at best a Tier two team. However, we have seen this ‘Tier two’ team cause huge upsets in the pat. They reached high in the FaceIT London Major, despite not being in a favourable situation in their matches. The team relies on Stanislaw, one of the best In Game Leader that North America has to offer.

Stanislaw’s leadership presents the biggest advantage that Complexity has in this match. The North American side is not really a contender for this tournament and is probably the worst team in the tournament. Complexity’s fortunes rely on their ability to surprise their opponents and win this match. They have Shahzam who was once the best AWPer in North America. However, the player has not been in excellent form for quite sometime. It might have to do with the remainder of the team not giving him the same amount of space as he needs. Or it might just be that he has just lost touch with his form. Either ways, the key to Complexity’s success and their chances of securing a win at this tournament remain in the hands of Shahzam.

He has developed a very passive style of AWPing of late. The passive style is fine, however, unless he changes his angles and understands the dangers of his positioning, he will remain under threat. N0thing will need to ensure some really out of the ordinary performances in order to uplift the team’s results. However, despite N0thing putting up big results, we don’t expect Complexity to post a real threat to the likes of Cloud9 / Faze Clan in this tournament.

Prediction :

The two teams are the weakest teams in the event and they are up against two heavy-weight teams in the tournament. Whoever wins this match will go up against the winner of the other match between Faze Clan and Cloud9. Despite the strength of the two teams on paper, there is no clear cut winner in this particular tournament. Faze Clah has made roster changes and they did not have a significant impact during IBuyPower Masters IV.

This particular match between BIG Gaming and Complexity will come down to the performances of individual players. On BIG Gaming; Smooya forms the most important asset on the roster. His AWP performance can make or break the entire round and it can result in the team’s confidence going up or down. The team has provided us with quality Counter-Strike in the past and it has come on the backs of Smooya and excellent performances by the other members on the roster.

Their opponents, Complexity Gaming is a roster that is playing with a stand-in. Ofcourse this move seems to be a placeholder, at least until the actual roster changes start after the Major. We are also seeing Tarik sit out the current period in an attempt to form a stronger team post-IEM Katowice 2019 Major. Complexity Gaming’s performance has not really been exemplary so far, and we think that they should not really have a decent chance in this match-up. They will not be able to match-up to BIG Gaming’s strategic approach. Despite having Stanislaw on the team, the stand-in will affect their overall gameplay and communication on the team. As such, we recommend a bet on BIG Gaming for this match.

Faze Clan

Faze Clan Roster:

  • Dauren “AdreN” Kystaubayev
  • åvard “rain” Nygaard
  • Nikola “NiKo” Kovač
  • Ladislav “GuardiaN” Kovács
  • Olof “olofmeister” Kajbjer Gustafsson

Faze Clan remains one of the strongest teams in the CS: GO scene on paper. However, in reality; the team has not been able to put forth strong results. The team has been riddled with poor results and they seemed to place the blame with their In-Game Leader ‘Karrigan’. With the new changes on the team; they have added Dauren “AdreN” Kystaubayev as their fifth player to replace Karrigan. He is well-known for being a part of the Gambit roster that won the PGL Krakow 2017 Major. He is well-known as a team player and not for putting up flashy performances. However, despite the fact that he was on a relatively weaker team, AdreN has years of experience playing CS: GO along the best players in the world. He was a part of the CIS Virtus Pro roster which gained critical acclaim during their time. He is a thinking player and that makes him a very good fit for Faze Clan. Ofcourse there is the added synergy with Guardian and Faze Clan hopes to take advantage of the same.

The team has the likes of Niko on their roster. His position as the World’s best player is obviously gone, thanks to the team’s miserable performance. But he remains one of the most skilled players in CS: GO. His individual level of performance is at a high and he can ensure that the team gets out of sticky situations. However, he had taken on the role of the In-Game Leader for several months now, and that was obviously affecting him on an individual level.

Apart from Niko; however, Faze Clan has players such as Guardian and Olofmeister. These are well-known players who have been at the top of the CS: GO scene in their best days. Ofcourse, their current form is a glimmer of their former selves. However, it is still very capable of ensuring some amazing plays. Guardian’s playstyle relies on him being able to provide aggressive peaks He makes these aggressive peeks which usually rely upon a frag. Ultimately, it provides a big advantage to the team as they are able to ensure amazing plays.

GuardiaN has performed when FaZe needed it most (StarLadder)

The Faze Clan is one of the most talented teams in the CS: GO scene, however lack of results definitely hurts them a lot. Faze Clan’s new roster is definitely capable of being one of the best teams in the world. They can ensure that they will choose to improve their statistics and become a better team with more depth than just their firepower.

Cloud9

Cloud9 Logo

Cloud9 Roster:

  • Jordan “Zellsis” Montemurro
  • Timothy “autimatic” Ta
  • Will “RUSH” Wierzba
  • Robin “flusha” Rönnquist
  • Fabien “kioShiMa” Fiey

The Cloud9 roster has made several changes to their team. They have brought on Zellsis as a stand-in. However, things don’t seem to be going too well for the team as they already have announced that they will try out a new player for their team. They will try out Ronald “Rambo” Kim for their team as reported by HLTV.

Autimatic is one of the most exciting In-Game Leaders in North America. The In-Game Leader has proven himself capable of leading the players to success. He has a way with the team and it definitely shows in the way the team seems to present itself in the way the team plays. Cloud9’s playstyle is reminiscent of the entire Cloud9’s playstyle and his effect is clearly seen.

Can Kioshima help the team move to greater heights?

However, Cloud9 is not entirely North American roster. They have Flusha and Kioshima; two players who are exceptionally talented. Flusha is not playing at the same level as before, but his experience in positioning and granting a huge advantage to the team is what makes him essential for the team. However, he does end up losing several key fights and that might be the bane for the team.

Kioshima is not the player who has consistently found himself on a roster for a long time. The player has talent and we have repeatedly seen himself out of some of the best teams in the world. The player has a good awareness of the team’s situation and can take sensible decisions. What is truly wonderful of this player is that since he has not been on an active roster for so long, his focus is on being stable right now. He is a reliable player, a player whom Cloud9 can count to be the rock behind their flashy roster.

Flusha is now on Cloud9’s roster and is a signficant part of their firepower

Ofcourse the star on this team remains Rush who has made a name for himself in the North American scene. He has a high skill ceiling and this remains his USP to the team. He can definitely make a bigger impact on the team provided the rest of the team provide him the space to make his moves.

Cloud9 is a decent team, but they have not been together in many LAN events to provide decent performance. The Cloud9 roster can possibly reach deep in this tournament, especially because of its format and the lack of top tier teams.

Prediction:

The two teams are very new when it comes to their current roster. Faze Clan recently made some changes when they brought in AdreN and YNK as a player and coach respectively. These changes definitely add a perspective to their new roster and we hope to see some structure around their gameplay. The Faze Clan roster is still mostly the same and they have some amazing individual players on their team.

On the other hand, we have Cloud9 a team that had to make changes out of necessity. The absence of Golden definitely skews the balance of the team and the new roster definitely is capable of reaching great heights. However, as a team, Cloud9 has not proven anything and it is a long shot to just say that they will suddenly defeat Faze Clan in this match.

We recommend a bet on Faze Clan for this match. They have the proven track record and their matches and results have definitely secured a bet on this International team for this match.
