Coming to the roots of Dreamhack, they have always helped the growth and development of local talent in CS: GO.

LDLC

LDLC Roster:

  • To1nou
  • Alex
  • Logan
  • Amanek
  • Devoduvek

The LDLC roster is plagued with a perennial problem. Their players cannot advance in the French scene mainly cause of the friendship and the closely knit community at the top of the scene. The experienced and veteran French players are usually loathed to change and it is evident in their poor results. However, LDLC has slowly been nurturing a generation of new and upcoming players who can be crucial to putting France back on the world map in Counter-Strike Global Offensive.

Over the past few months, we have seen multiple players from LDLC move onto the better French teams. However, LDLC still remains within reach of the top teams in France. With the likes of Amanek, Devoduvek and To1nou, this team has a lot of firepowers. They have an increased focus on their tactics and have a strategic point of view when it comes to their playstyle. In addition to strategy, LDLC also has a great focus on their firepower and their individual level has never disappointed fans and themselves.

The team remains inconsistent, however, and that comes due to the dip in individual player performances. With time, we expect the players to put together much better performances over the years. However, for now, LDLC remains an excellent team with conditions attached. The team needs to find consistency in its performance which will help boost its standings in the CS: GO Community.

Heroic

Heroic Roster:

  • Moddii
  • E3tag
  • Friberg
  • Mertz
  • Aciilion

Heroic is a Danish team comprising of multiple well-known Danish veterans. The likes of Moddii, Friberg, e3tag, Aciilion and Mertz are a formidable lot when it comes to Counter-Strike. They have all played in the best teams in the world at one point in time. However, as we see them right now, this team has a lot of potentials to make it big in CS: GO.

Heroic is exceptionally good on standard maps like Mirage, Inferno and Nuke. Nuke is a staple for the team. Being a Danish roster it would be surprising if the team did not manage to win Nuke comfortably, especially against LDLC. With Friberg on this roster, the focus of the team remains on their synergy and coordination. He is a person who believes in enhancing team chemistry. He did the same on NIP for many years before his departure. His focus on helping the team and the ultimate goal of the win is unparalleled in CS: GO.

They also have the mastermind in Moddii. He can help the team to develop its persona and strategical approach. With their limited map pool, Heroic rely heavily on Moddii to guide them through their matches. They don’t lack firepower, especially with players like Mertz showing up in a big way. Mertz’ performance has been spectacular recently with some really amazing individual plays by the Danish youngster.

Prediction:

Both the teams have experienced players on their roster. They have been together for quite some time and their synergy is bound to be the X-factor coming into this match. With Heroic, we are seeing a mixture of Danish and Swedish players. These players have a lot of experience under their belt. Their focus on strategy, however, requires Mertz to put up splendid performances.

On the other hand, we have LDLC which is full of young players. These players can put up splendid performances. However, they are very inconsistent which makes it extremely difficult to place your trust on this team.

For now, we recommend a bet on Heroic due to their stability and their focus on strategy. Nuke being a staple map for the team enables them to direct how the veto will proceed further.

We’ve been 4/4 so far for today in terms of predicting the winner. This’ll just be a quick post to predict the finals.

LDLC vs Rogue

LDLC – Ex6TenZ, to1nou, ALEX, xms, mistou

Rogue – v1c7oR, bubble, cadiaN, glace, tenzki

Surprisingly, Rogue crushed Kinguin rather than it being a close series. Well, I did say it was up to v1c7oR and bubble to perform admirably, and they did just that. And, it was more on Kinguin’s inability to adapt early to Rogue’s repetitive style of play, which I’m surprised they weren’t able to antistrat as soon as it become a common occurrence. Rogue looked pretty good, but it won’t look good against an experienced IGL like Ex6TenZ.

I’m worried for LDLC for this final, seeing as star AWPer to1nou has failed to turn up, and rifler xms looked pretty lost late game on the 2nd map vs. Tainted Minds. While the team play definitely outplayed Tainted Minds, you could note the inconsistency in LDLC’s aim at times during bombsite defense. I believe the IGL battle between Rogue and LDLC is what LDLC has going for them unless to1nou steps it up.

Probable Maps – de_overpass (LDLC pick), de_train (Rogue pick), de_dust2 (decider)

Odds – 65-35 in favor of LDLC (beat Rogue in group stage), 2-1 in favor of Rogue

We’ve finally reached the playoffs. And, as usual, we’ve reached the obvious participants. I was surprised that Muffin Lightning almost beat the Australians in Tainted Minds, especially considering they had a stand in at the event. Nonetheless, Muffin Lightning with ARKIMONDAY would have done miserably, considering how di performed exceptionally.

Let’s get to the predictions!

LDLC vs. Tainted Minds

LDLC – mistou, ALEX, xms, Ex6TenZ, to1nou

Tainted Minds – sonic, chuch, liazz, InfrequeNt, wizard

I’m really favoring LDLC here. I don’t have much to say, but LDLC outpowers Tainted Minds in everything. Experience, firepower, skill, you name it. I don’t want to undermine Tainted Minds, but when you give up a map and barely lose to a North American team like Muffin Lightning, do you really deserve to make it to the grand finals? Let’s be honest, Tainted Minds have some of the worst team play I’ve ever seen on their terrorist rounds. And, compare that to, LDLC, who smashed Bravado and Rogue on their way to the playoffs. Not really seeing a fight here unless sonic somehow anti strats Ex6TenZ’ incomparable IGL’ing.

My odds and predictions – 85-15 in favor of LDLC, 2-0.

Map picks –

de_dust2 (Tainted Minds pick)

de_overpass (LDLC pick)

de_mirage (decider)

Kinguin vs. Rogue

Kinguin – mouz, MICHU, SZPERO, Rallen, Furlan

Rogue – v1c7or, bubble, cadiaN, glace, tenzki

Kinguin and Rogue have had the closest rivalry in Tier 2 so far. In the 2 best of 3s that they have faced, both have gone down to the final map, going down to a nail biter. And, both teams have been looking pretty fresh this LAN, with Rogue and Kinguin smashing any competition that faces each other.

Rogue are a pretty easy team to read. If they ever run defaults, you can expect the Bulgarian duo if v1c7or and bubble to be on one side on the map, whereas the other 3 Danes would be coupled up on a different side of the map. Nonetheless, the lineup does pack up a lot of firepower, but every player on that team can be inconsistent on anytime of the day—especially glace and tenzki. Look to the Bulgarian duo to carry the load, as their performance together will determine how well Rogue fares.

Albeit, I’m really worried for Kinguin, as they can crumble in playoff situations (excluding the APM LAN). They seem to be slowly breaking the curse with this lineup, and I’m not surprised. The combination of CSGL and ex-AGG have been working out amicably for Kinguin. With MICHU taking all the spotlight, SZPERO’s IGLing and AWPing have been the secondary backbone to Kinguin’s success. Although, this time, I want to see Furlan step it up. This guy was arguably the star on past Polish lineups, and we haven’t really seen him shine in this Kinguin lineup. He’ll be the X-factor for Kinguin, and this match will call for his crucial performance.

My odds and predictions – 60-40 in favor of Kinguin, but Rogue take it 2-1.

Map picks –

de_train (Rogue pick)

de_overpass (Kinguin pick)

de_dust2 (decider)
