The ESL Pro league Season 8 LAN Finals will see the top teams in Counter-Strike in attendance. The teams will compete for a prize pool of $750,000 one of the largest amounts in Counter-Strike outside of the Majors. Every year the ESL Pro League LAN Finals is a way of ending the current season. They are usually held twice in a year and they provide a good understanding of the professional scene at the top level. This tournament will see the top teams such as Astralis, MiBr, Na’Vi, Team Liquid in participation. Their performance at this tournament will be a good prelude to the upcoming months. With the ESL One Katowice Major only a few months away, this tournament will be great preparation for many of the current teams.

The tournament is still in its Group stage and the teams will play their Best of One Opening matches on Day 1. This will be followed by Best of Three series of matches until three teams from each group are selected for the playoffs.

This match will be between Team Astralis and Team Liquid. The two teams have a history of playing against each other in LAN PLayoffs. This particular match might not be the knockout match and hence it does not carry the same significance. The winner of the match goes directly to the semifinals, while the loser goes to the quarterfinals. It essentially means that the loser will have to play one extra match in order to reach the Grand finals. Considering the quality of teams in participation at the event, this could mean a disaster for either team.

Made in Brazil vs Mousesports

Made in Brazil

MiBr Roster:

  • Fallen
  • Fer
  • Coldzera
  • Stewie2k
  • Tarik

Made in Brazil had a scare against NRG esports yesterday. The team looked extremely lost on Train and despite their best attempts, they were not able to put up strong results. They did manage a comeback in the end which was a testimony to the raw skill on the team. However, at one point in time, both Stewie2k and Tarik looked extremely lost and sad about their own performance.

Fallen had a wonderful series against NRG, but MiBr would probably have lost without him.

Made in Brazil roster has a lot of talent. They have five former Major Champions and that speaks in itself for their skill level. However, the team’s performance of late has not been the best. With YNK getting almost half a year with the roster, we expected the team to perform much better. After all, they did manage to win a map against Astralis at the ECS Season 6 LAN Finals.

Fallen was exceptional in yesterday’s serious. For many, he was the only reason why Made in Brazil won their series against NRG. Fallen has taken his role and his ability to make aggressive plays seriously. On Inferno, Fallen was responsible for giving away many early frags. This was probably because the team felt confident after their game on Overpass. The team has developed synergy, but their current performance reminds us of a former Virtus Pro without the aim to back them up. The fact that Daps was able to easily understand Fallen’s playstyle and prepare the round accordingly spells doom for the team. They want to ensure that Fallen will have the upper hand when it comes to tactics and strategy. It is only this way that they can further utilise their skill set and ensure the best results for the team.

Tarik and Stewie2k need to be more comfortable on this team.

YNK does have a tough time on his hands as he is constantly seen trying to make the team perform well. However, there obviously seems to be a gap in his understanding of their gameplay and the actual gameplay of the team. There is no lack in the skill ceiling of the players. They are all exceptional players, however, they lack confidence and the current form is not enough to ensure a decent performance in the upcoming tournaments.

Mousesports

Mousesports Roster:

  • Sunny
  • Ropz
  • Styko
  • ChrisJ
  • Oskar

The Mousesports team looked menacing in their match against Natus Vincere. Not only was the score extremely one-sided, but it was the sheer aim of the Mousesports players which provides a lot of hope for this team. After all, this team has known success with the current roster. Ofcourse the management made a mistake of bringing on Snax to spoil an existing, well-performing team.

The team is looking strong once more with multiple members performing really well on the team. The performance of the team comes from the amazing chemistry between the players. Their aim was always great and as we watch them perform, we can see how the team likes to play with each other. They make aggressive pushes on certain areas of the map, but that is usually coordinated with a passive defensive style on the other. The fact that they can get away with so much space might also be a problem for their opponents.

Styko is the young player who has been making waves on this roster. Being in familiar company, Styko is able to make space for himself and provide decent information for the team. He is one of the upcoming players and his movement to Cloud9 and then back to Mousesports definitely signals the fact that he will put in extra efforts to start winning matches for Mousespsorts.

If Mousesports win this match, they will secure a semifinals berth for themselves. That is a huge achievement for the team. They will be back in the playoff of big tournaments and make a name for themselves. With the Katowice Major on the horizon, we can expect this team to have much better results in the future.

Prediction.

Mousesports looks much better both in terms of form and their ability to play off each other. We are seeing a level of synergy similar to that pre-Snax Mousespsorts. Their current form is exciting and the way they defeated Na’Vi in two maps definitely inspires confidence in the team’s ability. They are definitely a team which can challenge Astralis on their day. If they keep their current course of form, Mousesports could be the team that Na’Vi never was.

We recommend a medium sized bet on Mousesports. They are looking much better than Made in Brazil who seemed lost and confused in their match against NRG.

Introduction

Dreamhack Masters Stockholm is Dreamhack’s first flagship tournament in Sweden. The event has been a regular in the CSGO calendar year for several years now. It has a seating capacity of 16,000 attendees and is primarily an Ice Hockey Venue.

This tournament is the first big event featuring the best teams in Counter-Strike since the player break. It is one of the first steps that the teams need to take en route to the London FaceIT Major. Big names such as Natus Vincere, Astralis, Faze Clan and Mousesports will compete to establish their rankings once more in the global scene.

Dreamhack Masters Stockholm will be a five-day event starting from the 29th of August 2018. It will continue until the 2nd of September 2018. It has a prize pool of $250,000 and will be streamed live on Twitch.

Mousesports

Mousesorts Roster:

  • ChrisJ
  • Oskar
  • Ropz
  • Sunny
  • Snax

The mousesports roster has been one of the best teams in the world for a long time. Their performance as a team has, however, always been slightly lower than that of the top teams in the world. Mousesports’ roster has one constant and that is ChrisJ. The in-game leader for Mousesports has donned several roles and positions in the team as they changed players in an attempt to find the perfect combination.

In the previous edition of this roster, they would constantly place deep in tournaments and ensure great performances. They would occasionally take down the top teams such as Astralis and Faze Clan as well. However, as the roster has shown, it wants to become the best team in the world. And with their current performance, it does seem that they are moving away from their target.

The addition of Snax was supposed to improve the team’s results and make them a very strong roster once more. However, the team does not look strong at all. The integration of Snax into the team has taken time and they require a lot more synergy if they actually want to become even as good as they were before.

However, the team does not rely only on Snax to provide them with the firepower. Indeed it is the other players on the team who actually can carry the team and make them an extremely strong roster. The Mouseports roster reached the winners’ finals after defeating Gambit. Ofcourse, this was not a big challenge, because Gambit is not a strong team right now. But every win only serves to make them a confident and more syncronised roster. That is essential if the team is to become strong once again.

MiBr

MiBr Roster:

  • Stewie2k
  • Fallen
  • Fer
  • Coldzera
  • Tarik

The Made in Brazil roster is yet another team that should potentially be one of the strongest in the CS: GO scene. Instead, they are having difficulty in getting off the ground. In their more recent tournaments, the MiBR roster was even unable to get past lower Tier 2 teams.

But they have brought in a coach, Ynk. His influence on the team’s strategies and logistics will be crucial for the development of the team. After all, the team has been performing decently individually, but as a roster they are faltering hard. The team’s lack of coordination is exactly the difference between them and the top teams in the world. As we look at their results, we wonder why this team is unable to get off the ground.

The MiBr roster results in this tournament will depend heavily on the combination of Fallen and Ynk. The two players/coach are very intellectual and we have seen innovative strategies from both. Niko has experience and is a familiar face for Ynk and he knows exactly how to utilise him.

Stewie2k and Tarik have gelled well on this roster. Their addition from Cloud9 definitely puts them in a strong roster on paper. But the lack of form, especially on part of Fer has catapulted this team down into the drains. For now, Mibr will have a tough task to defeat Mousesports at Dreamhack Masters Stockholm 2018.

Prediction:

Mousesports might not be as good as they were before, however, the team has been putting up decent results. Even though Snax cannot implicitly replicate the same performance and role of Styko on the roster, his presence brings a lot of experience to the team.

ChrisJ has proven repeatedly that he can get new members on this team and make them one unit. His ability to ensure great performances from mediocre players is what makes him one of the best In Game Leaders.

But their opponents MiBr don’t really have any good performances to speak for themselves. It is one thing to have a decent team and totally another to ensure a great performance. As we watch this team develop, it is still too early to bet on them. As such we recommend a bet on Mousesports for this matchup.
