Faze Clan

Faze Clan roster:

  • Rain
  • Karrigan
  • Niko
  • Guardian
  • Olofmeister

Faze Clan is one of the most successful international rosters in the Counter-Strike scene. After repeated attempts to form a strong team comprising of a mixture of players from various nationalities, the current roster for Faze is the best one yet. Comprising of superstars and veterans such as Olofmeister, Guardian and Niko this team has a lot more potential. Despite winning many tournaments, the potential of the team is still unfulfilled. They have a desire to be the best team in the world and are always working towards that.

One of the common factors holding together the team is Karrigan. The player has a lot of experience in holding together a team comprised of superstars. He has moulded several superstars in his Danish past. The biggest problem of an international team is never the skill or the firepower. It is the management of the personnel which often makes or breaks the team. Controlling the egos of top-level players from various teams is a difficult task and there very few In game leaders who can handle this. Karrigan is one such IGL who has proven himself to be up to the task.

Guardian is the Main AWPer on this team. His time on Na’Vi saw him struggle to move the team to become a top tier team. But after repeated failures, Guardian joined   Faze Clan. On this team. He was allowed the flexibility to move and play according to his own desire. Within the confines of Karrigan’s playstyle, Guardian flourished as an AWPer. It will not be a surprise to see Guardian back in form in the upcoming months. His performance as an AWPer sees him make aggressive plays when he is feeling confident. And the more aggressive he gets, the better he always seems to play.

Olofmeister is the X-factor on this roster. Often considered to be the most impactful player on this team, Olofmeister’s absence from the team caused the team to go into a slump. But upon his return, Olofmeister was topping the charts easily. His current form definitely raises hopes for the Faze Clan roster which frankly, looked very weak of late. The team has been suffering from consistency issues and has changed stand-ins multiple times on the team. However, having stand-ins also meant that the other four players needed to adjust to the new player. This severely impacts their game and it is not conducive to see the best performance.

Faze Clan will be matching up against Heroic in their first match for Dreamhack Masters Stockholm. It is a BO1 match and there is always the potential for an upset.

Heroic

Heroic Roster:

  • Modii
  • E3tag
  • Friberg
  • Acilion
  • Mertz

The Heroic roster has always been the second or third best team in the Danish CS: GO scene. Considering the fact that the Danish Counter strike scene is probably the best scene in the world, this puts them always as a very strong team. This current roster has a mixture of players from non-Danish origins as well. The most notable amongst them is Friberg, who has earned a lot of fame from his time on Ninjas in Pyjamas.

But the team belongs to and is led by Moddii, a veteran player from Sweden. The synergy of the IGL with his players is always evident in the way the team executes its strategies. They have a fixed way of executing their strategies and it is usually much more effective on the CT side. Staying true to their Danish origins, this team has a knack for being extremely CT sided. However, that is not to say that they lack originality, Indeed, this team could be called one of the most original teams in the scene. But they do lack firepower. Despite having some good names such as Mertz on the roster, he is an upcoming talent in the young Danish scene; the team has not really put up strong performances.

They lose several crucial duels which at times can result in a big disadvantage for the team. Friberg had a spike in his individual performance during May 2018 but has since fallen down to his normal average rating since then. The veteran player’s consistency, however, is one of the plus points for Heroic as they look to make themselves a stronger team in the near future.

The addition of Mertz to the roster definitely adds much-needed firepower to the team’s abilities. Mertz is one of the few young talents in the Danish region who has repeatedly proven themselves against top teams. Previously on North, he was part of a player swap between the two teams. Obviously, this was more due to incompatibility with the rest of the team as there is no doubt about the player’s individual performance.

Heroic is a strong team in their tier, but they are not one that has been knocking on the doors of top-tier teams. They still have a lot of work to do, and with Mertz, on their roster, we expect to improve a lot.

Prediction :

There is little doubt that Faze Clan is the team favoured to win this match. However, this is a Best of One match and the upset potential is always the highest in Best of One matches. Faze Clan is playing with Olofmeister now. They have had ample time to practice with their player after his break. But the question remains whether the remaining four players can get their act together. The players have been really lacking when it comes to firepower and their ability to execute certain strategies on the roster.

Faze Clan is a contender to become the best team in the world. But they have a tough task ahead of them. With Olofmeister back on the team, it does make their team more strong. However, they have to provide results in order for them to be a strong team once again.

This match is against Heroic, a relatively Tier 2 Danish team. Heroic has improved, especially with the addition of Mertz to the team. Since this is a BO1, the potential for an upset is always there, but realistically speaking this should not happen. Faze Clan should be able to win this match with ease and we recommend a medium sized bet on Faze Clan.
